Drone photography - just a trend or here to stay?
Hi, and welcome to the blog! Drone photography has been gaining a ton of traction the last few years, and today I wanted to write about it. Some of you might be wondering, what is drone photography?
A photography drone is an unmanned aircraft with photo and video capabilities. Pilots are able to operate drones from the ground and the possibilities are endless. Before drones, people would take aerial shots from airplanes or hot air balloons. Some creative individuals would tether cameras to kites to get an aerial view.
I've seen some incredible work done with drones, like this gorgeous shot done by Kaci Lou Vanderhoek. Be sure to check out her website by clicking her name or the image right below. Isn't this photograph stunning!?
Drone photography allows photographers to give their clients such a unique perspective that wouldn't be possible without the aircraft. Check out this amazing wedding video shot with a drone here.
I've also heard that a drone has become an essential tool for real estate photographers. According to MLS statistics, "home listings with aerial images sold 68% faster than a home with standard images." With drones, photographers can capture stunning aerial photographs and video clips of the property making their images more interesting to potential buyers. I think drone photography is such a valuable tool that offers a ton of possibilities for creativity and versatility.
Do you think drone photography is just a trend or is it here to stay?
