Happy 8th Birthday Daniel!
Woweee. Time sure is flying! I cannot believe this kid is EIGHT. YEARS. OLD.
How is that even possible? Who said that was okay?! 😭 It's like my brain cannot process that he's a whole big kid with adult teeth, where did my little baby go? I wish I could slow down time and just savor these moments.
His favorite colors are still red, blue and 'golden'. He LOVES listening to music on my noise cancelling headphones, he's into EDM music, Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse Soundtrack and Imagine Dragons. He loves playing Rocket League on the Nintendo switch, riding his bike, playing with hot wheels and he recently got into jump roping. He loves to swim and when he grows up he want's to be a marine biologist and scuba diver.
He LOVES building things. Making forts is one of his favorite past times and loves building them all. over. the house.

This has probably been one of Daniel's toughest years yet. We're extremely fortunate to be okay during the pandemic, our family stayed healthy and we we were able to keep working... but Daniel's world completely turned upside down. School stopped. Play dates became non-existent. Zoom meetings became the new normal.
Not only was Daniel still developing his reading skills, but he had to learn to write, type and operate a computer (and the many applications that became necessary for school.
I realize these are first world problems and how fortunate we are to even have access to the resources that we do. But it was still a really tough transition for him. I am just so impressed with all the growth accomplished this year. I'm not sure I would have been able to handle it as well as he did.
I know we didn't get to have the birthday of your dreams with all your friends this year, but here's to hoping that this next year will be the best one yet. I love you so much kiddo! You are the funniest, coolest, kindest most kick ass 8 year old that I know.

He's honestly one of the toughest kids to photograph, photographer kid syndrome anyone? But I was able to get some genuine smiles by telling him corny jokes!
